I’m super excited about today’s blog post because I get to share two of my current favorites! First up, this gorgeous Kimono from Charity Wraps (c/o). It’s incredibly soft and lightweight-you basically feel like you’re on vacation as soon as you put it on. It’s super cute paired with your favorite pair of shorts or jeans, or it works thrown over your bathing suit as a chic cover-up. This is truly the most “no-brainer” look I can think of for summer! I paired mine with a simple black tee and my Gap denim skirt-absolutely perfect for vacation and easily packed in a suitcase. Here’s another good thing about purchasing one: any of The Charity Wrap items will help any of the following non-profits: Hydrocephalus Association, Save the Children, Mercy for Animals or The Mobile Closet (which helps victims of natural disasters).

Here’s my struggle with sweaters, kimonos, and blouses that are too low-cut….I sometimes need a way to keep them closed that doesn’t include an ugly safety pin. When I was given the chance to try Maggie’s Fashion Magnets (c/o), I fell in love instantly. EVERY woman or man needs these. I used the ball and ring to close my kimono; no buttons, clasps, or hooks needed! I also tore the side of my skirt recently, and I used these same magnets to mend the tear and keep it closed until I could take it to the tailor to be re-sewn. This an awesome gift…I’m thinking stocking stuffers this year for the holiday, or a useful gift for a grad, professional, or someone starting a new job. If you have a halter top, tube top, scarft wrap…these are very useful. I highly recommend having a couple on hand.

Hope these two finds help you out this summer! Have a wonderful Monday.

Hilary Kennedy: My Life this Week

It’s been a busier week than usual, so I have a lot to share with you!

  1. Top Left: It was my birthday this week, so the hubby planned a great birthday weekend last Saturday that included a hotel getaway. He took me to dinner at a restaurant I’d mentioned months ago, and totally didn’t think he’d remember. I hadn’t eaten there since high school prom and I’d always wanted to go back. It was a treat to be back again, but this time with my permanent date. He gave me a beautiful new LV handbag….I love to collect vintage and new Vuitton handbags, so it was a wonderful birthday gift to add to it.
  2. Top Middle: I spent two days this week working with the great people on The Blaze TV. I did an interview about celebrity responses to the Orlando tragedy, and part of a panel answering questions and giving opinions on newsworthy topics and trending stories.
  3. Top Right: Father’s Day was Sunday, so our chihuahua Daddy celebrated by snuggling with FurFur. She loves to take naps right on his chest after running around causing mischief.
  4. Bottom Left: I couldn’t get over how lovely this bouquet from my best friend turned out! She created it herself for my birthday, and they are so beautiful! I can’t help but smile when I see them in my kitchen every morning.
  5. Bottom Right: Isn’t this traditional Indian jewelry so pretty!? It was a birthday gift from my friend, Neeha. I didn’t want to take it off! (And it immediately gave me a craving for authentic Indian food.)

That was a quick snapshot of my week. How was yours?

Humidity. It comes with the territory of summer sun and fun, but my hair doesn’t understand how to handle it. I’ve tried every hair serum and smoother, but it’s taken the big guns to really fight frizzy, unruly hair. I used to think products alone could help in humid weather, but it wasn’t until I tried out the T3-the hair drying gadget of my dreams-that I realized a blow dryer is the real answer. I specifically tried the Featherweight Luxe 2i (c/o), which is a lightweight, quiet, and super fast hair dryer. I know all hair dryers claim to “dry” your hair, and for the most part, they do. But how harshly they do it is another story. I’ve been using the T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i for a month now, and I can honestly say that the results are better than I’ve ever experienced short of a trip to the salon for a professional blowout. My hair is much smoother and sleeker in humid weather, and when I style it, it holds curl longer, too. It takes me four minutes less to get my hair completely dry, which means it’s money well spent to save time.

It isn’t just me loving on this dryer-it  won two Allure Best of Beauty Awards for Best Hair Dryer & Beast Breakthrough. Celeb hair stylist, Jen Atkins, swears by them, using it on clients like Khloe Kardashian. (And even my husband has fallen in love with it-he uses it every morning when he gets out of the shower!)

Enough about my hair, how about this nude and white dress? I wore this on the show last week and was asked by so many people where I got it that I had to include it in this blog. It’s from my go-to boutique, Lion & Witch, and they still have it in stock! You can order directly from them, and at under $100, it’s a great addition to your summer style.

This week is off to a great start…I hope yours is, too!

You truly can’t shop anywhere without seeing bare shoulder shirts on the racks these days. Off the shoulder has taken over, from the smallest boutiques to the biggest brands. I fell in love with this lightweight cotton blouse from MakeMeChic.com (c/o). It’s thin and breezy, which is perfect for the hot, humid weather that summer can bring. (Please ignore how wrinkled it is…I was out and about all day.) It also gave me an excuse to rock the white jeans that have been collecting dust in my closet!

This Dolce Vita fringe bag has gotten so much play this past year that I can’t put it down. It’s a cute cross body style and is my go-to bag for travel. I added my new Beaucoup Designs pavè bracelet and Rachael Ryen earrings (on sale, too!) for some pretty polish to my otherwise super casual look.

Lotion up those shoulders, ladies! There are more cute shirts like this one ready for the summer sun.

Blue and white conjure up beautiful images of places like Mykonos and Santorini, two places I aspire to visit. I’ve always loved this color combo, so when I saw this light cotton blouse at Francesca’s for $20, I scooped it up. You can’t go wrong with a plain white skirt and white wedge heels, either. Super comfy and perfect for summer!

On another summer note, I tried out a Leisure Leash for all those sunny walks with my dogs. I love to let my dogs roam free at the park when I can, but on our way there, they have to be on a leash.  If you are like me, you hate carrying that annoying leash, but I love running or playing with my fur babies in open spaces as well as a casual walk. (Or secure them outside Starbucks while making my tea run.) Leisure Leash is a collar and dog leash in one! Simply slip both pieces over your dogs head and you are good to go. If you need to leash your pet, you simply pull out the lead from the collar. This means no longer awkwardly holding a leash during your run!

Since my dogs are too little for the Leisure Leash, I tested it out on my sister’s dachshund, Angel. If you have a mid-to-large sized dog that loves to run and play with you, this is a low-cost way to keep them close, but still able to run free when they need to. (Retails under $20.)

Any pet items you can’t live without? Hit me up on social media and tell me your suggestions! (Leisure Leash c/o)
